Family Leadership Training Institute, FLTI
Civic Leadership Day at the Colorado State Capitol, April 5th On Wednesday, April 5th, Colorado Family Leaders will be convening for a Day at the Capitol. We are eager for you to meet our family leaders and to learn how we can better engage in the legislative process on behalf of Colorado children and families. FLTI’s history of Leadership success began in Colorado in 2008 and now boasts fourteen sites across Colorado connecting more than 1,600 alumni. As part of the program requirements, FLTI graduates each implement a community project. You are invited to join us and learn more about the ways FLTI promotes democracy, solves important problems, and engages community. More About FLTI The Family Leadership Training Institute (FLTI) is a first-of-its-kind family civics program provided through public/private partnerships and coordinated through Colorado State University Extension. Program graduates spend more than 120 hours over twenty weeks to develop skills needed to become effective leaders in their communities while further understanding democracy. The evidenced based curriculum integrates personal and child development, leadership preparation, and civic participation skills. FLTI inspires, trains, and empowers individuals to become effective leaders and change agents on behalf of children, youth, and families. This unique opportunity is offered to 25 participants at each of the fourteen sites who are screened and selected based on their availability and readiness. Diversity is the primary objective and participants grow individually and collectively through interactive experiences designed to address the most essential issues affecting our communities today. As part of the program requirements, FLTI graduates each develop and implement a unique project addressing critical issues and meeting the needs specific to their community. FLTI course is offered free of charge!
We look forward to our day at the capitol and meeting our elected representatives. The FLTI goal is to promote leadership and increase civic capacity in all places and policies. Please contact us if you would like to connect and learn more about the Family Leadership Training Institute.
